Getting utilities from the road to the building is where a lot of rural builds stall out. We trench and install underground water, sewer, gas, electric, and communications conduit, bedded properly, buried to the right depth, tracer-taped, and compacted so you are not repairing a settled trench in two years.
We work with builders on new construction and directly with property owners running service to a shop, barn, second home, or outbuilding. Every job starts with an OUPS 811 locate.

OUPS locate
811 called and marks verified before a bucket touches ground. Non-negotiable, on every job.

Route and depth planning
We plan the route around existing utilities, septic fields, and tree lines, and set depth to code and frost line for each utility type.
- 03
Trench, bed, and install
Trench opened and shored, pipe or conduit bedded in sand or stone, tracer wire and warning tape installed above.
- 04
Compact and restore
Backfill compacted in lifts so the trench does not settle, then graded, topsoiled, and seeded or restored to match.

It varies by utility. Water lines go below the frost line, generally 36 inches or more in our part of Ohio. Electric conduit depth depends on voltage and whether it is direct-buried or in conduit. Gas is set by the utility. We bury to the governing code for each line, not to whatever is convenient.
Yes, that is one of our most common jobs. We trench the run, install conduit and water line in the same trench where code allows the separation, and coordinate with your electrician on the terminations.
Most residential service runs are a one to two day job once locates are clear. Longer runs, rock, or road crossings add time. The 48-hour OUPS notice is usually the real scheduling constraint.
Yes. We compact the backfill in lifts so the trench does not settle into a rut, then grade, topsoil, and seed. A trench we dug should not be findable a season later.
