In some cases, yes. The tank can sometimes be reused or adapted, and the drain field may be able to stay in place if it is still functional. This depends heavily on the site, the condition of existing components, and what your county health district will accept. The concrete or poly tank has essentially the same lifespan as any other septic tank, typically measured in decades with normal use. The mechanical components, particularly the compressor and the pump, are wear items. Compressors on well-maintained systems often run five to ten years before replacement.
