What we do
One crew for the whole dirt-and-drainage job.
Septic is our specialty, but a septic job is rarely just a septic job. It needs a drive the truck can reach, a grade that sheds water, and a yard that looks right when we leave. We do all of it, so you are not coordinating four contractors.

Our work
A system you will never think about again.
Tank lids set flush at grade, leach field curved to follow the contour, ground graded so water runs away from it. Built once, built to the approved design, and finished so the yard heals over.
Why hire us
The difference is what happens before the machine shows up.
We pull the permits
Soil evaluation scheduling, health district application, and the pre-backfill inspection. You do not chase paperwork through five different county offices. We already know each one's process.
We own the iron
Excavators, skid steers, dozers, dump trucks, tank trailer. No waiting on a rental yard, no mobilization charge to come back for a half-day punch item.
We diagnose before we quote
A failed D-box, a broken lateral, or roots in a line is a repair, not a replacement. We find out which one you actually have before you spend money, not after.
We finish the grade
Every install ends with backfill compacted in lifts, final grade, topsoil, and seed. A trench we dug should not be findable a season later.
We call OUPS every time
Ohio law requires an 811 locate 48 hours before excavation. We make that call on every job including the small ones, because hitting a gas line is not a story anyone wants.
We are local, not regional
Our yard is on Dog Leg Road outside Urbana. When something needs attention on a Friday afternoon, we are not routing a crew in from two counties over.
Where we work
Five counties. One phone number.
We are based in Champaign County and work a radius that reaches from Indian Lake down to Springfield and west to Piqua. Every county below has its own health district, its own permit process, and its own soil, and we work all five regularly enough to know the difference.

How a septic job goes
No mystery, no moving target.
The most common complaint about contractors is not price. It is not knowing what happens next. Here is the whole sequence.
- 01
You call, we come look
Free site visit. We locate the existing system if there is one and talk through what the household actually needs.
- 02
Soil evaluation
A certified soil scientist reads the soil profile and seasonal water table. This determines the system type and it is the single biggest cost driver.
- 03
Written quote
A firm number based on the actual design, not a range that moves later.
- 04
Permit
We submit to your county health district and manage the review. Typically two to six weeks.
- 05
Install
One to three days on site for most residential systems. Tank set, lines run, field built to the approved design.
- 06
Inspection & restoration
Health district inspects before backfill. Then we grade, topsoil, and seed, and the yard heals over.
Straight answers
Questions we get every week.
If yours is not here, call and ask. We would rather spend ten minutes on the phone than have you guess.
We serve Champaign, Logan, Miami, Clark, and Union Counties in Ohio, working out of our yard on Dog Leg Road outside Urbana. That includes Urbana, Springfield, Bellefontaine, Marysville, Troy, Piqua, Tipp City, St. Paris, Mechanicsburg, West Liberty, Plain City, and the Indian Lake area. If you are just outside that footprint, call us anyway. Depending on the job we may still be able to help.
It depends on your soil more than anything else. A conventional gravity leach field on well-draining soil costs meaningfully less than a mound system or an aeration system with a pump and control panel. We do not quote a number until after the soil evaluation, because anything given before that is a guess dressed up as a quote. Call for a free site visit and we will give you a firm written number.
The common signs are standing water or unusually green grass over the drain field, sewage odor near the tank or field, slow drains and gurgling toilets throughout the house rather than at one fixture, backups into the lowest drain, and an alarm sounding on an aeration or pump panel. Any of those means stop using water heavily and call. Continuing to load a struggling field is what turns a repair into a replacement.
Yes. Ohio Administrative Code 3701-29 requires a permit from your county health district for new installations and for replacing a failed system, plus an inspection before the system is covered. We handle the permit application and schedule the inspection as part of the job, working with Champaign Health District, Logan County Health District, Miami County Public Health, Clark County Combined Health District, and the Union County Health Department.
On-site installation is typically one to three days. The longer part is the front end: scheduling the soil evaluation and getting the permit through the health district usually adds two to six weeks depending on the county and the season. We start that clock the day you approve the quote, so the sooner you decide, the sooner you break ground.
Every three to five years for a typical family home. Aeration systems generally need service more often, and many carry an annual service requirement from the manufacturer. Pumping on schedule is the single cheapest thing you can do to protect a drain field, which is the expensive half of the system.
Yes. We come out, walk the site, and give you a written estimate at no charge. If we think the job can be solved a cheaper way than what you called about, we will tell you that. A diagnosed repair is better business for both of us than a replacement you did not need.
Yes. Backups and failures do not wait for business hours. Call the main line and we will get you scheduled as quickly as we can. Being based in Champaign County means we are usually not far from the job.
